"I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Live at the Somerville Theatre)" - U2
On March 10, 2009, U2 performed a short concert at the Somerville Theatre, in Somerville, just north of Boston. The show as a suprise show, and the audience was made up mainly of radio contest winners. During the show U2 performed five tracks, “Get On Your Boots”, “Magnificent”, “Breathe”, “I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight” and “Vertigo”. The entire performance was recorded and broadcast on radio stations across North America.
“I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight” was released as a commercial single to promote “No Line on the Horizon” in August of 2009. Along with various CD releases, Amazon.com in the USA released a digital single for purchase containing just this one song. The song was released with an embedded cover which was quite different to the cover being used on the physical releases. The cover here featured U2 shot from above standing in a white studio, looking into the camera. No text is present on the cover image. The version of the song is similar to the album version, and is not the remix version that U2 would later perform during the U2360° Tour. At the time of this writing this file has remained an exclusive at amazon.ca and is still available for purchase. The downloaded file is an mp3 encoded at 256kbps.
Other tracks from this performance were used on various releases. “Breathe”, and “Vertigo” were both released as a b-sides to various versions of the “Magnificent” single. “Magnificent” was used as a b-side on some versions of the “I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight” single.
