"U23: Exclusive Tracks from Glastonbury" - U2

Digital EP

Track Listing:

Background Information

On July 2, 2011, just days after U2 had performed at Glastonbury, u2.com streamed three tracks from that performance as a subscriber gift. To listen to the tracks you had to be a subscriber and be logged into the site. They were made available at http://www.u2.com/news/title/u23-exclusive-tracks-live-from-glastonbury – and although listed as a limited time gift, those tracks can still be listened to at that address more than a year after they were initially posted. They were never posted for downloads, but one could return to the site and listen to the stream as often as one wished. You must be logged in as a paid member to u2.com to access that page.

The text on that site said: “Subscribers Streaming Special. For a limited time we’re streaming three tracks from the band’s set at the Glastonbury Festival. For thousands of fans at Worthy Farm in the UK and millions watching live on TV in the UK and Ireland, the band’s Glastonbury performance last month was one of their great live sets. If you missed it, these three tracks are a snapshot of a remarkable night. Enjoy!”

The three songs streamed were “The Fly”, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “With or Without You”. All three songs were performed live at the Glastonbury Festival, a multi day music festival held in the south of England. U2’s first performance at Glastonbury was set to be June 25, 2010, but Bono’s back problems caused the cancellation of that appearance. They would appear a year later, on June 24, 2011 instead. It is from that appearance that these three tracks are taken. All told U2 performed 19 tracks and headlined that night of the Festival at the Pyramid stage. Another song from that performance, “I Will Follow” was released through iTunes as a digital single.
