Background Information
On November 2, 2000, U2 performed in the Top of the Pops Studio at the BBC in London England. They performed one song to be aired immediately and an additional two songs which would be used for later broadcast. The first song was “Elevation” which was aired the next day on the television show. “Beautiful Day” was the second song aired, and was aired during the Christmas special in 2000. “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” was the third and final song aired, and it aired during the January 26, 2001 airing of the show.
It is that performance of “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” which was also included here on the first video release in Top of the Pops history. The DVD featured 20 tracks, including a mix of live performances and aired videos. The video included here is the live performance of “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of”.
Further U2 content on the disc includes the music video for “New Year’s Dub” by Musique vs U2. This is not a live performance of the song but is the released video. In the video, there is footage of U2 prior to the opening show of the Elevation tour in Fort Lauderdale FL in 2001, as they walked out onto stage.
The DVD was released on July 16, 2001.
