Background Information
In 2003 Andrea Corr performed the song “Time Enough for Tears”, written by Bono, Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer. The original recording of the song was for the soundtrack album “In America” and was arranged and produced by Friday and Seezer. When recording their 2004 album, the Corrs chose to record the song as a band, and this second recording appeared on the album “Borrowed Heaven”, released in May 2004.
The song can be differentiated easily, as in the newly recorded version by The Corrs, you can hear a piano clearly in the mix right from the start of the song, which is not present in the original mix from the soundtrack. The version by The Corrs overall is less dark than the version on the soundtrack album.
The original version of the recording, taken from the “In America” soundtrack album, was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, but did not win losing to “Into the West” by Annie Lennox from “The Return of the King”.
