When the Stars Go Blue (Live from Dublin) – The Corrs featuring Bono

Background Information

On January 25, 2002, Bono appeared onstage with the Corrs at Ardmore Studios in Co. Wicklow, Ireland to perform two songs. Bono sang on “Summer Wine” and this song, “When the Stars Go Blue” which was a cover of a Ryan Adams song. The performance with the Corrs was being filmed for a VH1 special and was recorded in front of a small group of friends and family. From that performance, a live CD was compiled called “VH1 Presents The Corrs, Live in Dublin” and it was released in the USA on March 12, 2002. The CD was not released in other countries.

This one track single was released as a promotional single a week in advance of the album to radio stations throughout the USA. It featured the same version of the song that would appear on the album a week later, however on the promotional CD it has been edited so that there are fades in and out at the start and end of the track. The fade in is short, and the fade out is much longer. Both versions of the song are a similar length. The song became a regular play on many radio stations in North America in the spring of that year.

This promo CD was released in a regular jewel case, with no front insert booklet. The back insert is a generic label insert with information about the song printed over top. The CD is printed with the song information.
