Background Information
David Guetta’s new DJ Mix, “Live at AlUla” was released today and features U2 on the opening track. The song “Psychic Harmony vs Mental Obsession vs With or Without You” is credited to the individual artists of those tracks, Mystery & Mist, 19.26, Yubik and U2. The song features mostly Bono’s vocal from the original song. It is the only U2 content on the album. Bono’s vocal starts at 0:55 in the song.
The mix was a set that David Guetta played at The Monolith at Al Ula, Saudi Arabia. A video of the performance was previously shared here on March 20, 2024. In that video, the U2 mix can be heard after a short introduction piece. The set was played in AlUla, in the desert without an audience, and filmed for release. It appears that the performance itself was filmed in 2023.
The new mix is released on streaming and digital services, and is released on regular and high resolution audio formats.
Guetta worked with U2 on a remix of “<a href=“https://www.u2songs.com/discography/u2_atomic_city_single”>Atomic City</am>” earlier this year, which was released on February 5, 2024. Guetta previously worked with U2 in 2011 on a “club-sounding record” that U2 had in development at the time. Some of that material was later developed into songs on Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. Other producers approached to work on the club album included Avicii and RedOne.
