Background Information
Orbison’s wife Barbara put together a number of compilations of Roy Orbison’s work after his death. This video collection is one of those items she put together. The video is 90 minutes in length and spans Roy’s entire career. Of note to U2 fans is the inclusion of the video for “She’s a Mystery to Me”. This is the song that was recorded with Bono and The Edge, and released after Orbison’s death. The promotional video for the song is included here on this collection under the “Special Features” section of the disc. In the lyric notes by Derek Neill it lists “The name of Roy Orbison was back in the charts with the mega-hit “You Got It” peaking at No. 1 in all formats all over the world. “She’s A Mystery to Me”, written for Roy by Bono and produced by Bono, hit the singles charts worldwide.” The liner notes also include a quote by Bono about Orbison, “He was an original of the species”.
The audio track included here may be of interest to some, as there is a dolby 5.1 track for “She’s A Mystery Girl”, the track having been “up mixed” for this collection. The sound is also available in a Dolby Stereo 2.0 mix, and DTS 5.0 sound.
