U2 Promotional Series (Alphabetic By Title)

  • "A&M / Island / Motown Radio Sampler" Promotional Series

    The continuation of the A&M Radio Samples, now retitled “A&M / Island / Motown” Radio Samplers. These ran from 1994 until 1998.

  • "A&M Records Canada Radio Sampler" Promotional Series

    The A&M Radio Sampler series was a series of promotional CD releases sent to Canadian radio each month in Canada, containing the newest releases from A&M records and associated labels including Island Records. The series started in 1989, and was pressed CD releases right up to the end of the collection, in June 1994.

  • "Brazilian 12-Inch Promos Containing U2" Promotional Series

    In the 1980s and early 1990s, WEA records in Brazil would often release 12-inch records containing tracks from a variety of artists, including U2 to promote their music at radio.

  • "Hitmakers Top 40" Promotional Series

    Hitmakers was a music magazine that serviced US radio stations. Starting in January 1988, they also offered a service to provide new music to the stations, issuing various artist collections on CD for the radio stations. U2’s appearances began in 1988, and ran through to 1996.

  • "International Weekly Showreel" Promotional Series

    The International Weekly Showreel was a promotional collection put together by Universal Music for the European market between 2003 and 2009. Unlike many other items listed here, these were DVDs and featured video footage, advertisements and sometimes rare video footage from a variety of bands.

  • "Island Records Pre-Release Limited Edition" Promotional Series

    The Island Records Pre-Release series of 12-inch records were promotional items sent out in the UK in the early 1980s, containing tracks from a variety of artists. Some were sent in custom picture sleeves, and in some cases early on it was the only way to find certain U2 tracks in the 12-inch format.

  • "Italian 7-Inch Promos Containing U2" Promotional Series

    Dischi Records in Italy produced a series of jukebox singles featuring a different artist on each side. Through the years U2 would appear on a number of these. Some copies now circulate in unique picture sleeves, but these are not official, and were added to these releases later in life by a third party. The singles themselves are legit.

  • "Promo Only Modern Rock Radio (USA)" Promotional Series

    Promo Only is a promotional company servicing radio in the UK, Canada and US markets. They offer a series of themed collections each month, including this one, “Modern Rock Radio” for the USA market. This series started on CD but has transitioned to digital only.
