Background Information
To help promote the album “Under a Blood Red Sky” Island Records released a 12-Inch vinyl promotional release, which featured the entire “Under a Blood Red Sky” album with each track being introduced by interview segments which ran from one to just over three minutes in length. The interview was conduced by Trevor Dann and was recorded during U2’s War tour in England. The band in the interview is commenting directly on tracks appearing on “Under a Blood Red Sky”. In an effort to drum up interest in the promotional recording, the sleeve of the promotional release was numbered in black ink in the bottom left hand corner. The item was limited to 1000 copies. Each track is a unique edit from the album, as each track fades in and fades out again at the end, where as on the album they were one continuous live show without breaks.
