Background Information

“All Because of You” was the second single released to radio from the album “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb” in North America. It was only issued as a commercial single at that time in Canada on February 8, 2005. In the rest of the world, “All Because of You” was the fifth and final single from “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb”, being released in October 2005. There were promotional singles released during both time frames.

The first promotional releases, in the early part of 2005 appeared in the USA and Mexico on 5-inch CD. In the USA, the promo was released with a black and white photo on the front of U2 with red diagnol lines. The back insert lists “U2” and “3:34” in very large print with smaller information about the rest. In Mexico, the CD was released in a cardboard sleeve, with the catalog number U2PRO 4. The cover was black with red hatch marks. Both of these releases contained the album version of the title track, and only the one song.

Another unique promotional release followed in the UK in the Fall when the single was released there. Similar to the US promo, the single used red hatch marks on a cream coloured background, but in this case there was no image of U2. The 5-inch CD came in a slimline jewel carrying the catalog number CIDDJ 906. It contained one track “All Because of You (Single Mix)”.

In Japan copies of the commercial single containing four tracks was used for promotion throughout the country. Those used for promotion came with a promo sticker which covered the UPC on the back of the OBI, and were also marked as promotion around the inner center area of the CD.
