Background Information
In November 2002 U2 participated in a webchat hosted by MSN. They were discussing the release of the new album “The Best of 1990 – 2000”. The interview was done by Jo Whiley of the BBC, and all four members of U2 were part of the conversation. Larry, Bono and The Edge were all in New York, but all three were at separate locations. Bono was at the New York offices of Rolling Stone magazine, Larry was on vacation with his family in upstate New York, and The Edge was at the offices of Principle Management in New York. Adam Clayton was in Nepal, Tibet at the time of the interview and it took some time to reach him by phone. The full session ran for 70:22 minutes, and is included here in full on this promotional disc. The original interview was broadcast live on MSN as it was happening.
The promotional disc was printed by Island Records for use after the interview. It was pressed to CDR, although there are some reports of a silver pressed CD, and it was released in a clear plastic sleeve with simple paper inserts. It was distributed to radio stations for broadcast.
