Background Information
Dyna Records was established in the Philippines in 1957. The label became a local record company distributing many releases by international artists over the years including Island Records, Chrysalis Records and others. In 1992 they produced a number of U2 promotional singles for distribution to radio in the Philippines. These included “One,” “Mysterious Ways,” “Even Better than the Real Thing” (The Perfecto Mix!) and this unique pressing of “Ultraviolet (Light My Way).” None of these promotional singles were labeled with a catalog number, and all featured a generic label. The credits include the note “Manufactured and printed under license by Dyna Products Inc. in the Philippines.” A later release of “Stay (Faraway, So Close!)” for promotion would be released on PolyCosmic Records instead.
The singles featured the same track on each side. For “Ultraviolet (Light My Way)” the track is a unique edit of the song, and the song fades out as the “Baby, baby, baby” coda begins. The sides are labelled side one and side two even though the track is the same on both sides.
The label includes the logo for PARI, the Philippines Association of Records Industry Inc.
