Background Information
The second single released to radio from U2’s 2023 album Songs of Surrender is a re-recorded version of “With or Without You” which was released to radio on January 27, 2023. The song was recreated during lockdowns, and features the entire band. The song is produced by Bono and The Edge with Bob Ezrin. Duncan Stewart is listed as an additional producer, as well as mixing the track, and appearing on Rhodes, Wurlitzer and electric piano on the song.
The song was released commercially on the same day, appearing at midnight in each country on the day of release. The delivery to radio was later in the day just before noon Eastern. The song was delivered by digital services to radio, and we are not aware of any physical pressings of this item in the promotional format. The artwork sent to radio stations, like the commercial release, was the cover of the album and was not unique.
