Station Information | Program Guides | Unique Tracks

U2 has had two stations on the SiriusXM service. In 2018 they launched "The U2 Experience" on June 1, 2018 on channel 30, which was a limited time station. In 2020 they launched "U2 X-Radio" as a permanent station on channel 32. SiriusXM is a subscription radio station, available via satellite and internet to residents of the USA and Canada.

2018 The U2 Experience:

The U2 Experience on channel 30 launched at noon (Eastern) on June 1, 2018. It stopped play at 03:05 on July 31, 2018. The station aired for about two months, although it had been initially advertised as a 30 day special channel. The channel played mostly U2 material (73% studio recordings, 16% live tracks) with the remainder being made up of interview content (4.8%) and solo content from members of U2. During the time it was on the air, a special concert was hosted by SiriusXM at the legendary Apollo Theatre on July 11, 2018, for SiriusXM contest winners. The show was broadcast on the U2 station, months before being released as a fan club exclusive. Original content on the station included pre and post show content for the Apollo gig from Bill Flanagan and Jenny Eliscu, and a special feature that saw Larry Mullen discuss the band’s sound with Joe O’Herlihy.

2020 U2 X-Radio:

U2 X-Radio began broadcasting on July 1, 2020 at 3pm ET on channel 32. The station was initially to run for five years, but the contracts have been extended beyond that date. The station initially was described as “This is U2. This is radio. This is U2X RADIO. Featuring the songs of a band from the Northside of Dublin. A complete immersion into the music of Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton. The band’s history, idols, influences and current passions. Plus inspiration, conversation, culture, commentary and ideas. U2X Radio will introduce listeners to old friends and new stories; as well as artists, writers, thinkers and activists who are changing the world. All curated by U2.” Adam Clayton, Bono and The Edge have all hosted shows on the station.

We maintain episode guides for the programming on the station, as well as a list of rarities that have been played on air.

In the early days of U2 X-Radio, U2.Com offered a sporadic highlights show from the station called Xtracts via U2.Com. Xtracts also airs on other SiriusXM channels as a preview of the U2 station. The episodes are:

The station was announced on December 4, 2019, during a live U2 concert in Saitama, Japan. U2 went live to the internet for one song, “Elevation” with the announcement of the station being made during the show, to the confusion of fans in attendance at the concert.
