Background Information

Brüno was a 2009 feature film from Sacha Baron Cohen playing the lead role of Brüno. The film was premiered in Hollywood on June 25, 2009, and opened July 9th or 10th in many countries worldwide. The budget of the film was an estimated $42 million, and the film grossed $138 million worldwide. The plot centred around a gay Austrian fashion guru who is disgraced on his fashion based television show in Germany, and decides to seek worldwide fame instead.

At the end of the film, Brüno heads up the recording of a charity song, “Dove of Peace” and is seen performing alongside Bono, Snoop Dogg, Elton John, Chris Martin from Coldplay, Slash from Guns n’ Roses and Sting. The song is recorded at Abbey Road Studios and is produced by George Drakoulias. Bono appears in the film singing his lines in the song but does not appear elsewhere in the film.

The film was released on DVD in November 2009.
