Background Information
The 2022 issue of “Now That’s What I Call Christmas” includes both the original mix and the 12-inch mix of “Do They Know it’s Christmas” from 1984. The song features Adam Clayton and Bono from U2 among other musicians.
Although the original mix is relatively easy to find, the 12-inch version is difficult to find on CD, this being one of only a handful of sources, and the first from outside of Japan. The 12-inch mix however, is only featured on the CD compilation, and is not present on vinyl versions of this album. The 12-Inch mix is also available on the digital release of the album, but tracks are unavailable individually, and one must purchase the entire album to get the U2 related content.
A vinyl version of the compilation features three 12-inch discs in red vinyl, but only includes the original mix of the song, and does not include the 12-inch version. The vinyl version was released later, on November 11, 2022.
