Background Information
The Polystar Pick Up Airplays series of promotional discs were put together and distributed by Polystar, U2’s label in Japan through to the end of 1991. The discs were sent for promotion as a way to promote artists on the label. U2 appeared on a number of these collections during the promotion of Rattle and Hum and Achtung Baby.
The first appearance was on the fourth release in the series, with “Desire” being included in a late 1988 (The front cover lists an October 25 date.) Early CDs came with a single insert at the front of a jewel case, although later entries came with a back and front insert.
U2’s final appearance on this series included “One” and “Lady With the Spinning Head” from U2’s single for “One”. That single was the last issued on Polystar.
