Background Information
This compilation features music that would be up for awards at The 1993 Brit Awards, and was released in the weeks ahead of the show in February 1993. U2 was nominated for “International Group” in a category against R.E.M., Crowded House, En Vogue and Nirvana. It was R.E.M. that took home the award. U2 also received a Special Achievement Award for Most Successful Live Act.
U2’s contribution to the compilation album is the Temple Bar Remix of “Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses”, released as a single at the end of 1992, the last single from Achtung Baby. Here the song is faded out about five seconds earlier than the version found on the single for the song.
The compilation was released on CD, cassette and LP.
