Background Information
“Threesome” was a 1994 film directed by Andrew Fleming, that starred Lara Flynn Boyle, Stephen Baldwin, and Josh Charles. The basic plot revolves around a female university student, Alex, being accidentally assigned to male roomates because of a mix up with her name and a decision that the three would eventually make to sleep together.
The U2 song that appears on the soundtrack is U2’s recording of Patti Smith’s “Dancing Barefoot”. The song at 4:48 is the full length version recorded for the single “When Love Comes to Town”. However, due to space restrictions, on most copies of that single, the song was edited to 4:13. The longer full length version appeared only on the 7-Inch single, and the 3-Inch CD. Thus this soundtrack was an easy way to find the longer version on CD for many years. In 1998 when U2 issued “The Best of 1980 – 1990 & The BSides” they included the longer version of “Dancing Barefoot”.
