Background Information
Bono wrote the English lyrics for the Italian singer Zucchero, for his album “Blue Sugar”. The song was initially recorded as a solo song, and was released as a single by Zucchero.
In 2004, Zucchero released his “Zu & Co.” album, an album of songs he had previously recorded, but this time each was sung as a duet. On that album worldwide, Sheryl Crow was his partner for the song “Blue”. However, in The Netherlands, a singer by the name of Ilse DeLange was used instead on the album. And in 2005, the version of “Blue” recorded by DeLange and Zucchero was released a single in Europe. The single included two versions of “Blue” – the full length album version, as well as a shorter radio edit of the song.
