2026 Subscription Gift Announced
Original Story by Aaron J. Sams (2026-03-16)
Update (March 18, 2026):
The initial announcement of this item at U2.com on March 16 read “This will be the first physical release of the Days of Ash collection” and the subscription details page listed the CD as “exclusive to subscribers”. Videos posted to U2’s social media on March 18, 2026 advertising the new package read “the only physical version of the EP” when talking about the CD.
Original Story (March 16, 2026):
It’s just been announced that there will be a third unique CD released with Propaganda, following on the heels of Melon and Hasta La Vista Baby!.
The 2026 subscription gift for U2.com has just been announced. The “Days of Ash” EP will be released on CD for fan club members, and it will come with a special edition 52 page print edition of the Propaganda magazine. Also one of seven posters, featuring artwork from the EP, will be randomly selected for each subscription.
The announcement on U2.com reads: “Seven striking images in the magazine have now been printed up as A2 posters and one of these will be distributed – selected at random – with each copy of the print edition of Propaganda. The six-track Days of Ash CD pays homage to early editions of Propaganda when CD song collections like U2 Melon and Hasta la Vista Baby were included as surprise bonus releases on publication.”
You can find all the details about the subscription offer here:
The offer has been live for a while now to pick a “to be announced gift”. As far as we are aware, this will be the only physical release of this EP, but U2.com does read “This will be the first physical release of the Days of Ash collection”.
A yearly subscription to U2.Com will cost $60 (US), but if you are a current subscriber, you can renew at a $10 discount before the end of your current subscription. You must be signed in to see your discounted rate.
You can see a list of all the past subscription gifts here. This release of “Days of Ash” is the first release of music through the fan club since 2022’s Achtung Baby 30 Live release. Melon was the first CD released with Propaganda, released in early 1995. The second CD released with Propaganda was Hasta La Vista Baby! released in 2000. In some regions that was mailed out separate from the magazine, but in others it was included with the magazine. Who would have thought 26 years later we’d be getting a third CD with the magazine.
Propaganda magazine is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The Propaganda magazine included in the gift this year is volume 3, issue 1. The issue was compiled for the launch of “Days of Ash”, and appeared online at propaganda.u2.com. A limited version of less than 2500 copies was recently used by the record label to promote the release of the EP in independent record shops, and mailed to a limited number of subscribers. That version is numbered, we do not believe this new version will be individually numbered.
