A Sort of Contest

Original Story by Aaron J. Sams (2017-10-24)

Have you heard of a band from Scotland called December? They’ve been getting some steady buzz in U2 fan circles for a number of years. And we are happy to announce we are in a position to give away their new album, on CD, called 33. The album is a special one for the band, it marks a journey with U2 fans, playing gigs for us, sharing their love for U2 with us, showing us the songs we love in a new light.

The album is an album of covers. U2 covers. Songs that December wanted us to hear again. “A Sort of Homecoming” was the first U2 cover the band did and it opens the album, and then we are taken on a journey from the earlier days (“I Fall Down”) through to the most recent songs, (“I Will Follow”). The band covers little known songs (“Promenade”) alongside the biggest hits (“Where the Streets Have No Name”).

The album features 10 U2 songs, covered by December. It was just released on September 30, 2017. Still not sold? Scroll down and take a listen to “A Sort of Homecoming”, one of my favorites.
