Bono co-writes “Catharina” with Garrix

Original Story by Aaron J. Sams (2026-03-13)

Just released today, Martin Garrix’s new song “Catharina” was co-written by Bono. The song released on STMPD Records, was released earlier today on digital platforms. Garrix is performing vocals on the new song.

It is the latest in a string of songs that Bono has worked on with Garrix. The collaborations started with “We Are the People“, recorded for the Euro 2020 tournament with Bono and The Edge joining Garrix in performing the song. The song was released in June 2021. Garrix also collaborated with U2, acting as a producer for the song “Your Song Saved My Life“ for the Sing 2 soundtrack. Garrix also mixed and mastered that song.

Last year two additional songs that Bono co-wrote with Garrix emerged. Garrix released “Angels for Each Other“ and “Weightless“ and both songs credit Paul David Hewson on lyrics. These were released in March and April 2025, and both songs were a collaboration between Garrix and Arijit Singh.

The credits for the track are as follows:

The lyrics for the song go:

Oh Catharina
I don’t even know you
But I feel like I might owe you my life

It’s 12:04 and it’s our first morning
I see your face and I start to believe
Here in the dawn before my heart could be broken
I’m free of the world and all of its grief

Oh Catharina
I don’t even know you
But I feel like I might owe you my life

Oh Catharina
We can be one or be each other
Cause we share the same eyes

Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh

The sun comes up and it feels like we’re drеaming
I tell you things I’ve nevеr told myself
You and I listen we can speak without talking
You’re here before I know I need your help
And then there was no one else

Oh Catharina
I don’t even know you
But I feel like I might owe you my life
Oh Catharina
We can be one or be each other
Cause we share the same eyes

Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
Oh oh oh ooh
