Original Story by Aaron J. Sams (2026-02-07)
U2.com offers a yearly subscription offer. In the past three years the offer has gone live mid-February. This year, like the others, the offer has just gone live. You can check out the 2026 offer at U2.com. The gift however, has not yet been announced, but you can sign up for the 2026 package now and choose the yet to be announced gift which we know a lot of people have been waiting to do.
This years offer opened in mid-February, also with a “to be announced” gift. That gift, the black hoodie, was announced on June 5, four months after the subscription offer opened.
We do have a list of past gifts for each year available in our discography.

A special album curated to celebrate what would have been B.B. King’s 100th birthday has been released this past week. The album is curated by blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, and features a wide range of performers joining Bonamassa to cover B.B.King songs. The album is called B.B. King’s Blues Summit 100.
U2 themselves do not appear on the album, but the song they did with B.B. King makes an appearance. “When Love Comes to Town” is performed by Bonamassa with Slash, Shemekia Copeland and Myles Kennedy on the album.
King was born on September 16, 1925, so the tribute is running a little behind the birthday. The full album was released yesterday, February 6, 2026. Bonamassa released a preview of “When Love Comes to Town” earlier this year.
The cover can be heard below:

It’s a year for anniversaries. Hot Press magazine formed in 1976, and has started a year long celebration of their 50th anniversary. The celebration kicked off with a concert last night at 3Arena in Dublin, and Adam Clayton made an appearance with Imelda May and the Boomtown Rats on a performance of Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys are Back in Town” to close the show. Our write up of the show is available here.
Hot Press is promising more celebrations ahead this year to celebrate the anniversary. A book titled Hot Press: History in the Making is planned for later this year and will collect 20 of the finest interviews that have appeared in the magazine over the years.
We write up each live performance U2 is involved in. For those looking for past performances, you should check out our show archive.

Last year U2 were inducted as Fellows of The Ivors Academy in an award ceremony held in London. U2 came together to perform at the event. Now The Ivors Academy has announced they will be setting up their first presence outside of the UK with the launch of The Ivors Academy in Ireland.
The Academy is an association for professional songwriters and composers, working to protect the interests of songwriters, lyricists and composers in Europe.
The Edge sent in a message of support. “In a fast-moving, tech-focused world, it is more important than ever to celebrate and protect human creativity. The Ivors Academy has long demonstrated its commitment and support for music writers at every stage of their careers. The announcement of The Ivors Academy in Ireland, in partnership with IMRO, is welcome news for the music community, coming with its significant experience, energy and focus on the many important issues facing songwriters and composers today and into the future.” (IMRO stands for Irish Music Rights Organisation.)

Record Store Day 2026 releases were announced on Wednesday. The annual celebration of independent record stores often sees a special release by U2. But the band has skipped last Fall’s Black Friday event and currently have nothing listed for this April’s event. With the focus on finishing off their next album and other projects, we expected things to be a little quiet this time around for Record Store Day.
