“Days of Ash” Radioplay Updates

Original Story by Aaron J. Sams (2026-03-14)

It has been just over three weeks since the “Days of Ash“ EP was released, and we’ve been looking at where the songs are being played on radio.

Worldwide, the song with the most total play is “Song of the Future”. The next most played song, “Yours Eternally” has 31.5% of the total airplay numbers of “Song of the Future”. The third most popular song, looking at the worldwide numbers, is “American Obituary”. “American Obituary” has 21.0% of the total airplay numbers of “Song of the Future”. All three songs have been sent out promotionally in different regions, which is likely the reason for the popularity of these songs.

“The Tears of Things” and “One Life at a Time” are getting a fraction of the airplay that the three biggest songs are receiving. “The Tears of Things” has about 3.7% of the airplay of “Song of the Future”, and “One Life at a Time” has about 2.1% of the airplay of that track.

“Wildpeace” is getting very little play at all. Most of the play is when it is played on SiriusXM radio as part of a continuous track with “Song of the Future”. Not seeing a lot of play outside of that.

Promotion to date for radio has included a number of digital only promotions, being sent to stations. The day of release, most stations received the full EP, with a recommended “radio focus track” – it was “Song of the Future” for most of Europe. A few days later in the promotional campaign a stripped back version of the EP, without “Wildpeace” and without “The Tears of Things” was sent out. Once again a “radio focus track” was recommended. Both “Yours Eternally” had “American Obituary” have been sent out as individual tracks for promotion as well. The songs getting the airplay are the ones which have been pushed for wider promotion.

The most airplay for the “Days of Ash” EP, when you combine the numbers for all songs, is coming from Italy. The top ten countries for airplay of all combined songs from the EP are as follows:

1. Italy
2. USA
3. France
4. United Kingdom
5. Germany
6. Poland
7. Spain
8. Netherlands
9. Australia
10. Argentina

The airplay in Italy has been so successful that all of the tracks except “Wildpeace” have reached the rock airplay charts in that country.

Perhaps its no surprise that these same countries were also the countries targeted with in-store copies of the Propaganda magazine. All except Argentina had copies available as an additional in-store promotion. (Australia did not have copies available in store when the whole thing first launched due to shipment times, but we had several reports yesterday that multiple stores have now received copies. This included RedEye Records in Sydney and Rockinghorse Records in Brisbane. We’re told a few other stores should have received copies as well…if you’ve found any, please give us a shout and let us know! We have added these two to our map survey here.)

The airplay by country can be broken down for the individual songs, rather than for the full EP.

“Song of the Future” is getting the bulk of it’s airplay in Italy, where it was named a radio focus single. It is also getting significant airplay in USA, UK, Poland and France. “Yours Eternally” on the other hand is getting the bulk of it’s airplay in Germany. It is also getting significant play in France, Netherlands, Italy and finally the USA. “American Obituary” is getting the bulk of the play in USA, with the top five countries playing the track also including France, Italy, Poland and Canada. These three songs are getting the most airplay worldwide.

Looking at individual songs you can see some interesting trends in respect to which countries are giving each song the most play. “Song of the Future” is getting the bulk of its play in Italy, then the USA, then the UK, and Poland and France rounding out the top five. “Yours Eternally” is getting the bulk of its play in Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy and then the USA. “American Obituary” is getting the bulk of its airplay in USA, France, Italy, Poland and then Canada. These three songs are getting the most airplay worldwide. The airplay totals for these three songs, makes up 96.3% of what has been played on radio worldwide.

Although getting far less play, “The Tears of Things” and “One Life at the Time” are both still showing up on some stations. “The Tears of Things” is getting the bulk of its airplay in the USA, then Poland, then Italy, France and Germany. The airplay numbers for “One Life at a Time” show most of its airplay is coming from the USA, with Poland, Italy, Germany and Portugal showing the next amount of airplay. Both of these songs are getting little airplay worldwide, in comparison to the three most popular songs. “One Life at a Time” is getting just 2% of the airplay that “Song of the Future” is receiving worldwide.

One interesting thing about “The Tears of Things”? It is getting most of its airplay in the USA, but almost all of that airplay is coming via U2 X-Radio. “One Life at a Time” is also getting most of its airplay in the USA, but in this case, it’s more spread out, and we are seeing airplay at a number of stations, not just at U2 X-Radio.

The most popular song for airplay in most countries is “Song of the Future”, with most countries (58) giving that song the most airplay.

Twenty-three countries are instead giving “Yours Eternally” the most airplay. The countries favouring “Yours Eternally” are Argentina, Aruba, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Denmark, French Polynesia, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, Martinique, Mauritius, Namibia, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, and Ukraine. (Perhaps that last one is an obvious one to be favouring “Yours Eternally”, Russia itself is favouring “Song of the Future”.)

In six countries “American Obituary” is the song getting the most airplay. Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Canada, Estonia, France and Turkey are all favouring “American Obituary” for airplay on radio. The song was sent out as a standalone promotional release in Canada.

Israel is going a different path than all of the other countries. In Israel it is “The Tears of Things” that is getting the most airplay out of all of the songs on the EP.
