New Music Division At Tyne Tees
Music & Media (1987-05-30)
London — Tyne Tees TV, the company picked to produce the eagerly awaited independent television network pop show “The Roxy” from June 9, is building on its success by setting up a separate division to increase its general music programming.
Key executive in the new division is director Gavin Taylor who has been involved in the run-in to “The Roxy” going national. Two initial projects planned are the filming of “U2 Live In Paris” based on the band’s July concert and a music spectacular around a pop/rock festival in Ibiza.
Tyne Tees has confirmed that “The Roxy” will go out at 19.00 hours on Tuesday and will be repeated on Saturday mornings. The programme will be recorded, not live, because Thames TV, UK’s biggest commercial station, has decided to screen it at 18.30 hours.
