Starbucks Launches New U2 Spotify Playlist

Original Story by Aaron J. Sams (2017-05-27)

There’s a new U2 playlist published on Spotify courtesy of Starbucks. The playlist is curated under the Starbucks account, and is simply called U2 in the graphic that accompanies the playlist. The playlist contains a total of 42 songs and is described as “This week we’re celebrating one of our all-time favorite bands with a playlist covering three decades of their music.”

The photo accompanying the playlist is one of the photos Anton Corbijn took of the band in a recent beach photoshoot, where the promotional image for the new Joshua Tree tour was launched.

The following are the songs featured in the playlist, although the first track “Where the Streets Have No Name” is not the full track but a 30 second preview of the track at this time. The links below will take you to the lyric entries for these songs. Most are the more common album versions of the songs, but one unusual one is that the Radio Edit of “Miss Sarajevo” is used. The final track, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For (Live)” is the newer edit of the track found on the forthcoming 30th Anniversary release of The Joshua Tree and not the original edit found on Rattle and Hum.
