“Stuck in a Moment” Digital Release, Friday, August 2

The next in a series of singles in the “To Love and Only Love” collection will be released, tomorrow, Friday, August 2. This time it is the single “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of”. The collection, “To Love and Only Love“ will reissue 12 singles in total, throughout 2024 to streaming services. Many of these tracks have not been available in the past on these services. The tracks included here are taken from the commercial singles released in 2001 on CD, vinyl and cassette formats. A new single has been released roughly every two weeks since the project started. This is the 9th single released in the collection. The final three are expected to be “Elevation”, “Walk On” and “Electrical Storm”.

The songs included on the new “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” release, available tomorrow, are as follows:

  • “All I Want is You” (Live In Paris / Remastered 2024) (05:23)
  • “Even Better than the Real Thing” (Live in Paris / Remastered 2024) (03:55)

These tracks were originally found on the “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” singles released outside of North America during promotion of the album. In North America, some of these tracks were part of the “Walk On” single instead. The two tracks “Live in Paris” are taken from an October 19, 2000 performance at the Manray Club where U2 previewed the album. These were previously available only on a very limited CD single released in Europe. The Farmclub.com tracks are also taken from another promotional appearance to preview the album, this time in Los Angeles on October 27, 2000.

The initial “Stuck in a Moment” singles in 2001 included various remixes of “Beautiful Day“, but for this new collection of digital releases, those have been issued as part of the “Beautiful Day” single instead.

“Stuck in a Moment” was released commercially outside of North America on January 29, 2001, with the first release being in the UK. The song reached #1 on the Irish charts, and #2 on the UK Official charts. The song was nominated, and won, the Grammy Award for “Best Pop Performance by Duo or Group”. It was also nominated, but did not win Song of the Year.

Although “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” was released as a digital single as part of The Complete U2 this is the first time it has been released as a standalone digital single outside of that digital collection.
