The Edge to Appear on Confidence Man Album
Original Story by Aaron J. Sams (2022-03-21)
A new album by Confidence Man will feature appearances by Noel Gallagher and The Edge. The album Tilt comes out on April 1. The band told NME “Noel and The Edge are actually both hidden on the record somewhere. I’m not supposed to talk about it. You’ll have to do some research on the YouTube comments.” They did confirm that The Edge is playing tambourine on the song in question.
The album is being released on I OH YOU / Heavenly Records.
The album has 12 tracks:
- “Woman”
- “Feels Like A Different Thing”
- “What I Like”
- “Toy Boy”
- “Luvin U Is Easy”
- “Holiday”
- “Trumpet Song”
- “Angry Girl”
- “Push It Up”
- “Kiss N Tell”
- “Break It Bought It”
- “Relieve the Pressure”
The album will be released on coloured vinyl (green via the label and blue elsewhere) and on CD. Pre-orders are being taken now.
Back in 2019 while U2 and Noel Gallagher toured Australia, The Edge and Noel Gallagher attended a party thrown by Confidence Man. When a neighbor got angry at the noise, he ended up coming over to confront the band, only to see The Edge, and ended up having photos done with The Edge and Noel Gallagher. It’s a story that Noel Gallagher has enjoyed telling since that time.
In November 2019, Confidence Man told ABC News, “We’re doing some stuff in England next year for the new record and The Edge is going to play tambourine all over it, apparently. We’re saying he’s not allowed to play any guitar. He wants to play something, but we said he can only play the tambo.” In 2020 the told Cool Accidents, “We sent the Edge a few of our unreleased tracks and he keeps sending them back with guitar solos all over them. We’ve told him time and time again if he’s gonna feature it’ll be on tambourine but he just won’t get the message! Such a sweetheart though.”
The first song from the album, “Holiday” can be heard below. We’ll update with a discography entry when we have additional information about this release and what song The Edge may be featured on.
