U2 Launch attack on silver Screen
Lowell Sun by Christopher Cox (1988-07-25)
Bullet the silver screen: They’ve conquered record charts, radio playlists and rock arenas. Now the Irish supergroup, U2, has set its sights on movie theatres as well.
Bono and the lads – Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr. and The Edge – are currently holed up in Steven Spielberg’s L.A. studio, editing the movie Rattle and Hum, which chronicles their rise from Dublin, and also working at A & M Records on their new double album.
The $4.5-million film, directed by Phil Joanou, is being financed by the band.
