U2 on “A Very Special Christmas” White Vinyl Re-Release
Original Story by Aaron J. Sams (2016-11-08)
Good news for those who like vinyl. U2 is appearing this month on a special re-release of “A Very Special Christmas”. This time the release is in limited white vinyl. U2 originally participated in the project back in 1987 with the recording of the song “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” for the project. Although the album has been released on vinyl before, this is a new limited pressing on white vinyl. There is no information about the number of copies pressed, nor is the release numbered. The insert includes a special note updating us on 29 years of this project from the Chairman of Special Olympics, Dr. Timothy P. Shriver. Special Olympics is the recipient of monies raised by this release.
The release is being sold exclusively through FYE stores in the USA. A large sticker on the front marks it as an exclusive to FYE. The album is also being released in Canada through HMV stores.
The catalog information for this release is as follows:- Catalog Number: UMe – B0025215-01
- UPC: 6 02547 96164 8
