Jam TV! (1997-11-02)

(LONDON) – Chrysalis Records will
release a new version of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” as a
U.K. charity single on Nov. 17.

The song, re-recorded to back a promotional film for BBC
TV currently airing on the network, features 30
international artists, including U2’s Bono, Boyzone,
David Bowie, Tammy Wynette and Joan Armatrading,
as well as Reed himself.

All profits will go to the BBC’s annual “Children In Need
Appeal,” to be telecast Nov. 21. A Chrysalis spokesman
says the single “is likely to be released elsewhere” and
that the label is offering the single to its overseas
affiliates.
