Show Details:

U2 play a final show at Mount Temple, where they have spent their teenage years going to school. The show takes place at the end of the school year, and they use the roof of the boiler room which backs onto a car park for a stage. The band played at least two shows on this stage, but only this one at the end of the school year is confirmed. The show takes place on an open day when no other school activities are planned. Paul McGuinness is present, so it was after they first met Paul on May 25. U2 plays a mix of original material as well as a cover of Van Morrison’s “Here Comes the Night”.

The opening act is Frankie Corpse and the Undertakers, also students at Mount Temple. That band is made up of Frank Kearns, the McCormick Brothers – Neil and Ivan, and Keith Edgley. Ivan had been one of the kids who were at U2’s first meeting in the kitchen at Larry Mullen’s home in 1976.
