Show Details:

The Meeting Place in Dublin was a small venue with a capacity of about 150 people. In July and August 1979 the venue hosted a number of benefits to raise funds for the Carnsore Anti-Nuclear movement. The plan in 1979 was to build a nuclear power plant at Carnsore, in County Wexford. It was met with a lot of protest in Ireland and the idea was eventually abandoned in 1981.

U2 played the first of these shows with Scullion (lead by Phillip King) as the headliner at the show. The full list of Anti-Nuclear concerts was:

  • 1979-07-18: Scullion with Rocky de Valera and the Gravediggers, U2
  • 1979-07-25: Casanova OK and Honor Heffernan
  • 1979-08-01: Barry Moore, Eamonn Murray, Nick Fitzgerald and Billy O’Shea

Little is known about U2’s show or performance. The set list is unknown.
