Show Details:
U2 open their “11 O’Clock Tick Tock” tour at the Hope & Anchor in Islington. This is their first tour of the UK since signing with Island Records, and it corresponds with the release of their first single on Island, “11 O’Clock Tick Tock“, released on May 23 in the UK. This is their first release in the UK, although previous singles have been available as imports.
The venue is a 200-capacity basement underneath the pub itself, which holds nightly concerts. U2 played here before in 1979, on a night there were only nine paying customers at the show. Not much is known about this 1980 show.
Fashiøn was listed as opening all of the shows on this tour, however, it is known that they missed some shows. However, their appearance with U2 at this show is also confirmed by gig guides published the week of the shows.
