Show Details:

Unlike many of the early Boy tour shows where information is scarce, a recording of this show exists. The show took place at the Taboo Club, and U2 play 12 songs. The show is opened by Midnight & the Lemon Boys.

The show is pretty typical of U2’s early shows at this time. “11 O’Clock Tick Tock” is both the opening song and the last song played. Bono includes snippets of “Send in the Clowns” and “Can’t Find My Way Home” in “The Electric Co.” The show is played to a small crowd, an estimated 20-25 people in the crowd. And Bono spends quite a bit of time trying to get the audience interested in what is going on with the band on stage.

The Taboo Club was located at 20-22 Huntriss Row, and U2 played this venue at only one known show. A number of large acts did play the venue while it was still in operation including AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, and Marillion.
