Show Details:

Get It Together was a British television series for kids, which featured top performers playing their hits “live” on television. The show was produced by Granada Television, and aired on ITV. The show was filmed in Manchester at the Granada TV Studios.

U2 filmed a performance of “I Will Follow” for Get it Together which is believed to be their first television performance outside of Ireland. They performed on the sixth season of the show, and the other bands appearing on the episode with U2 were The GB Band, The Piranhas, and Marshall Doktors. The performance aired on November 11, 1980. The show is filmed three weeks in advance, and does not air live, meaning U2’s appearance on the show likely was filmed on October 21, 1980.

U2 appear on a small stage with Larry out in front, and The Edge, Bono and Adam in behind the drum kit. The Edge is dressed in a long white dress shirt. Bono wears a long sleeved black shirt with circular patterns on the front, Larry was dressed in black, and Adam Clayton wears a brown coat, and has his hair pulled back and parted to one side.
