As part of the Boy tour, U2 make a couple of stops in France to end this part of the tour. This show at Vaulx-en-Velin, is held in a suburb of Lyon, at an engineering school located there, the École Nationale des Travaux Publics de l‘État. The concert was organized by student Emmanuel de Buretel, as part of the student union at the school. Not much is known about the show, although estimates say it was attended by 200 people. Buretel remembers one incident, being annoyed by Bono, because Bono had used the student association’s phone to call home and speak to his girlfriend Ali, and it was the student association that ended up footing the bill for the hours long phone call.
