Show Details:

U2 play two shows in Boston, as they did in Washington DC a few days before. Both shows are held at the Paradise theatre and both are sold out based on strong word of mouth, and promotion on local radio station WBCN. Not only are they playing two shows, but they are recording the both for Warner Brothers (Their USA distributor) to use for promotion on radio. It is the early show that is recorded and shared with radio stations across the country, and this late show was not released for many years. Eventually the recording appeared as a release through Wolfgang’s Vault. Attendance at both shows is 1000 people. A local act, La Peste, opens both shows.

The set list for this second show is varied a bit from the first, allowing anyone attending both a slightly different set list. “Twilight” opens the later show, and “Boy / Girl” returns to the set list after a long time of having not been played.

During the show the band adds snippets of “Cry” and “Send in the Clowns” to “The Electric Co.” At the end of the night, Bono tells the crowd that they are being asked to leave which is greeted with a chorus of boos. Bono tells the crowd he’d happily stay all night, but that the band will be back soon.

The recording released through Wolfgang’s Vault is mostly complete but is missing a few songs. This release was done in 2015.
