Description:

Bono and The Edge go drinking with Oasis and end up singing songs at and on the way to the bar. This followed the first show in Oakland.

Show Details:

Bono and The Edge go out after the first show in San Francisco with the brothers Gallagher. On the way to the Cafe, Bono and Edge are in a vehicle with the Gallagher brothers from Oasis, who have opened the show. In the vehicle, “One” comes on the radio, causing Noel to exclaim “this is the greatest song ever written” and both Gallagher’s as well as Bono and Edge sing along.

Arriving at the Cafe Bono asks for a song. The story related in SF Gate shares:

“‘Do you have ‘O Sole Mio’ on the jukebox?” U2’s Bono asked Jeannette Etheredge at about 4 a.m. yesterday. We’re at her Tosca Cafe, where of course that’s on the jukebox, so Bono stood on the bar and sang along with Luciano. It’s a memory I’ll treasure,” said Jeannette, who brought U2 and Oasis back to her place for a party after the Oakland gig Wednesday”
