Show Details:

U2 play their second ever show at Singapore’s National Stadium, the night after their first. The stadium is a covered venue, open on one side, through which you can see skyscrapers beyond. Like the first night the crowd is enthusiastic to have U2 play and show their love for the band. Like the previous night there is no opening act. The show starts at 8:15pm.

“Desire” was sound checked in the afternoon ahead of the show. “Desire” played in place of “Angel of Harlem” tonight. And “You’re The Best Thing About Me” fills in the spot usually held by “Every Breaking Wave” on this tour. “Love is Bigger Than Anything in its Way” is back in the set list after being cut at the last minute at the previous show.

During “Bad” Bono includes a snippet of David Bowie’s “Heroes.” “Desire” includes a snippet of “Not Fade Away.” “Take Me to the River” and Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel” appear in “Vertigo.”

Asked by Bono what he misses about home, Adam replies “I am home!” Larry’s reply to the question is “snow” — it’s been a hot and humid stop in Singapore. Bono mentions that Singapore has a lot of skyscrapers while telling the crowd Ireland has a lot of sheep. He also mentions that Larry puts the sham in shamrock instead of the usual glam in glam rock.

During “Love is Bigger Than Anything in its Way” the video for the song is shown on the screen for the first time this tour. Before this, the band has been featured on the screen during this song. The song is introduced as a song for their kids.

After two shows in Singapore, the band now move onto two shows in Tokyo.
