Video Information

In 2025, U2 made a series of lyric videos available for songs that had not previously been widely released as singles. These videos were made available via YouTube, but were also made available to purchase / stream on other services such as Apple Music. The video for “Wake Up Dead Man” was the fifth video in the series, and uses the album mix of the song.

The video itself is made up from the lyrics of the song and promotional photos taken throughout the original Pop promotional campaign. No live footage is included, the video is a collection of still images.

The lyric video for “Wake Up Dead Man” is released in advance of the song title being used later the same year as title for the third “Knives Out” mystery film. The film by Rian Johnson, will be released December 12, 2025. Previous films in the series have been named after songs. The previous films used the original song over the final credits. The first film was named “Knives Out” after the Radiohead song, and the second film was named “Glass Onion” after the song by The Beatles. The first teaser trailer for the film, arrived the same week this lyric video was released.
